Information about company

In 1998, by the resolution passed by the Presidium of the Council of Ministers of the USSR of 24.08.1988 № 40 and the instruction of the Council of Ministers of the USSR of September 9, 1988 № 1816р, research & developments works titled «Ceramic gas turbine engines of 2.5 MW power» were launched. To put these works into effect, a Research-Engineering Ceramic Heat Engines Center (NIZ KTD) was established. Until 2001, NIZ KTD was incorporated into the VNITIEM and that time it was the main subdivision of ZAO NPP «TEDVIC» and AOZT «NPP TEDVIC». Since 2001, NIZ KTD admitted the status of an independent subdivision in 2006, it was transformed into «Boyko Center», Ltd.
The team of scientists and engineers of «Boyko Center»., Ltd that survived all the perturbations of the «perestroika» period regardless of the permanent dramatic shortages of funds to implement the conceptually novel «break-through» material aspects, technological and design approaches finally succeeded:
- to develop the basics of the scientific designing of ceramic parts for the high temperature path of the ceramic gas turbine engine CGTE (turbine, combustor, air heater, gas ducts, etc);
-to produce structural ceramics having no analogues in the world , featuring the heat stability over 1350°
С, with no shrinkage at sintering (which implies feasibilities of a mechanical treatment with no use of diamond tooling), allowing application of such technological operations as welding and elasto-erosion treatment;
-advanced technological processes were embodied that ensure a high reliability of operation of ceramic elements for GTE;
-complexes of technological and test beds allowing implementation of the complete cycle of manufacturing and verification screening tests of ceramic products were fabricated, mounted and commercialized;
-all the main components of the standardized ceramic gas generator or their models (for the 2.5 MW CGTE-2.5 engine) were manufactured and survived a number of planned tests;
- test beds, required to test the complete experimental engine, were designed.
